If you can't catch the live coverage then there are mini matches and match highlights of games. If your after an even more bite sized portion of the action then there are goal highlights and even post match interviews.

Optus Sport had no shortage of content, but finding the right thing to watch was becoming increasingly difficult. The existing experience relied heavily on a single content feed, making users scroll through an overwhelming mix of games, news and supporting content.
The challenge was to create a clearer experience that could serve everyone from casual viewers to hardcore fans, while establishing a premium product foundation for the next generation of Optus Sport.
I redesigned the information architecture around the different ways fans engage with sport, creating a dynamic home experience that adapted to the game cycle, user interests and level of fandom.
A premium experience that understands my passion for sport.
Through research, testing and rapid prototyping, I introduced clearer content hierarchies, new content formats, personalised team experiences, spoiler protection and richer match information. I also helped establish the responsive UI and experience toolkit that brought the new direction together across mobile, web and TV.
The redesign created a clearer, more engaging way for fans to discover and consume content across the Optus Sport experience. User testing showed that the new content formats made live and upcoming games easier to recognise at a glance, while allowing significantly more content to be surfaced within the same space.
The final product was supported by a shared experience toolkit and high-fidelity designs across mobile, web and TV, giving Optus and its working teams a consistent foundation for the new platform.

Let's dig deeper.
Understanding the problem
Understanding the fans

Research revealed three distinct levels of fandom:
Casual — interested in the biggest games and moments.

Featured games
Quick Stats
Enthusiast — follows particular teams, players and competitions.
Favourites
Notifications
Hardcore — wants deeper access to matches, statistics and everything happening around the sport.
Spoiler Protection
Detailed Stats
The opportunity wasn't to build three different products, but to create an experience that could adapt to different levels of engagement.
Reframing the Home Experience
We moved away from a static content feed and designed a homepage that responded to what was happening right now.
The experience could shift depending on whether a match was upcoming, live, recently finished or there was no major event happening.
This gave the homepage a clearer purpose:
Help fans understand what's worth watching next.

Bringing the Brand to Life
The new Optus Sport identity was energetic and expressive. The product needed to feel the same way.
Motion and animations were introduced across key interactions, transitions and playback moments to create a more dynamic experience.
The principle was simple, Make the product feel alive without getting in the way of the sport.
